New Camera!

Yesterday, after weeks of begging, Wes finally gave in and got me a dSLR camera (Nikon D60). I am in looooove! So, here are some of the pictures I've taken in less than 24 hours. I've used picasa to edit them, and I must say, I'm impressed. For being a free program, it's pretty good (at least to me and my unexperienced self!)

Wesley turned 3 months on Thursday (how has 3 months already FLOWN by?!?). He is smiling a ton, and I think he's only days from letting out a real belly laugh. Right now, he does this funny little grunt/yell when he's excited about something. He's not much for cuddling anymore, unless he's really tired, which makes me super-sad. He would much rather sit up straight and look around, or even stand in your lap! He's sleeping pretty well. He doesn't eat during the night anymore, some nights I do have to go in and give him his paci though. But we have had quite a few nights of 7+ hours of straight sleep though! Pretty nice!

OOPS!!

I had every intention of continuing this blog through the renovation of the house, but I guess life got busy! In fact, life got VERY busy...

The room that was the lime green/neon yellow combo:

...was painted a nice, neutral khaki color (Dune Drift by Valspar).

Then, before the paint was even fully dry...

Wes' first reaction? "If it's a girl, am I going to have to paint that room again?!?"

We found out we were having a boy (much to Wes' relief...no painting!) and Wesley Allan Vicars, jr. was born on December 19, 2008.

So to recap the past (almost) year since we closed on the house:

April 2, 2008: Close on the house

April 23, 2008: Lauren's Pregnant!

July 2008: Move into the house

August 25, 2008: It's a boy ( I think that's the correct date)

November 18, 2008: Our 2nd Anniversary

December 2, 2008: I get put on bedrest for high blood pressure/pre-eclampsia watch

December 17, 2008: It's time to get this baby out (2 weeks early)...check in to East Cooper to be induced

December 19, 2008: Wesley is born by C-Section at 6:03 pm

December 24-25, 2008: Our first "Charleston Christmas"...Bill is here for Christmas Eve, my parents, brothers, and uncles are here for Christmas Day

January 2, 2009: Wesley's actual due date...he's 2 weeks old!

I think that just about sums it up!

The Title of this Blog

When we closed on the house, our Realtor gave us the following plaque to hang in our house. It's the inspiration for this blog!

The House!

Here are pictures of the house as we bought it...its got lots of potential!! The kitchen...

The sunroom, which will also be Sully's Room... The backyard...
The house has 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms, one of which is painted lime green with an electric yellow ceiling!
